Berlin Tegel Airport contains numerous airport shops, coffee shops, and good facilities for the disabled travellers within its main terminal building.

Duty-free shops are readily to hand at Otto Lilienthal and sell a wide range of tax-free goods. Tegel Airport's terminal serves many major airlines, travelling from Berlin to a large number of different destinations around Germany, Europe and the world.


There are also a wide range of additional facilities, such as business services, foreign currency exchange outlets, meeting rooms, passenger information desks and ATM cashpoint machines, as well as spacious airline lounges which are readily available in the gallery area above the main hall.

Airport Information Desks

Tourism Information desks are located in the main hall area and provide a wide range of detailed travel information about the airport itself, flight arrivals and departures, and attractions around the Berlin-Brandenburg Metropolitan Region / European Plains area.

Shops, Duty-Free and Retail Outlets

Tegel Airport is home to good shopping facilities and these are located throughout the main terminal building. With many varied shops to choose from, the most popular include newsagents, gift shops selling a range of popular German / Bavarian souvenirs, a supermarket in the 'Market Place' area, and there is also a duty-free shop, where you will find wines, beers, cigarettes, cosmetics, perfumes and other similar goodies.

Bars, Cafés and Restaurants

There are a number of places to eat onsite, including restaurants, cafés, wine bars and fast-food outlets. Offering a varied choice of German, international cuisine and basic refreshments, restaurants and bars can be found within the terminal building, being easy to spot. Vending machines are also available should you require a quick snack to satisfy your hunger pangs before you board your flight.

Currency Exchange, Communications and Banking Facilities

There are good currency exchange and banking facilities to hand, being particularly concentrated in the main central terminal area. These include several ATM cashpoint machines, a bureau de change centre and other travel-related services, together with a well-equipped post office.

Business and conference facilities are available in the main terminal building and this is where you will find plenty of telephones, fax machines and photocopiers - within the main Airport Service Centre and spacious VIP Lounge areas. There are also seven executive lounges in the main gallery space.

Tegel is fully physically-accessible for travellers with disabilities and special needs. There are ramps, good access for wheelchair users, wide lifts / elevators, disabled toilets, designated parking spaces and wheelchairs. It is sensible for disabled travellers to inform staff if they have any special needs before arriving. Other amenities at Tegel include first aid and basic medical facilities, numerous public telephones accepting both change and phonecards, tourist information, baby changing facilities, left luggage facilities, a luggage porter service, lost property facilities, quarantine areas, a meeting point and numerous luggage trolleys.
